On Gingrich’s comments about Palestinians.
While his comment is misinformed and enraging, its not particularly surprising in lieu of American foreign policy and that extends to many life-long Democrats.
Newt Gingrich making this remark for the umpteenth time now is as shocking as your shoes getting wet on a rainy day.
In a sense, when you have US politicians like Barack Obama playing out policies that keep Palestinians stateless, they are essentially making the statement in a very real and effective way.
Let alone the beneficiaries of these policies whose goals are to extend the state of Israel to the Jordanian border.
I get the rage, but this is just another day in Washington.
It’s just another horrific day in the US of A.
But you know, as it continues, it only numbs people more and then people’d need harder and stronger lies.
Fighting against this large set up isn’t easy so have to take it light. But we should be able to draw the line between keeping our vitality and falling into cynicism. I do believe we can do much better about Palestinians, to general audience within USA - and even beyond. (Sympathetic Lefts monopolizing Palestinian cause really doesn’t help Palestinians.)
I really also wish if Palestinians themselves can speak up more, and interact with others more. (And we outsiders just follow, learn and help.)
