The Strong do what they will; the Weak suffer what they must.

“If you want to free a society, just give them internet access. Because people, the young guys, you know, are all going to go out and see biased media, see the truth about other nations and their own nation and they’re going to be able to contribute and collaborate together.”

“Domestic violence against women is a plague on all nations and cultures. It is certainly not limited to Islamic-refugee communities. But American authorities need to pay closer attention to the plight of women in these communities. In the U.K., forced marriage is illegal, and the government even has a special unit that rescues young girls who have been sent to undergo forced marriages in their parents’ home countries, often Pakistan or Bangladesh. Crimes committed with the aim of controlling women are also hate crimes, even if that hatred is directed within the community.”

Time Magazine Online on Shaima Alawadi’s case

I really appreciate that they said this because often times, these crimes are overlooked and forgotten. Very important.

England took such a long time to implement those things. They are rather quite new and Time magazine’s way of putting it - as if UK has been advanced/progressive than USA - is simply an inaccurate distortion. Those legislations re: marriage I think came in just recently - after years of outcries about problems so called forced marriage (Asians there, I think, don’t accept this labeling.)

My take is that Muslimahs - Ummah - especially younger generations in Europe, including UK has tougher situations. Though, communities there are - more aiming at creating their own autonomous sphere within Europe - and create parallel societies situation. Though no one knows how that’d succeed. Slowly and gradually some kind of transitional phenomenons are occurring too.
