are you learning with al-kitaab?
Heard about it. But right now I’m just doing it on my own.
And I’m not losing interest. I’ll let myself remain in this way bit longer - and then might start tackling (tougher part of) grammar seriously.
It’s been fun. So it should remain fun :)
frightened replied to your quote: The belief that Jews constitute a religious,…
judaism is passed on by the mother - it’s both a religion and, because of low intermarriage rates early on, an ethnicity.
Welp. My concern is -
Thinking from technically-defined side - makes us blind about how weak and vulnerable our minds are on the issue of special lineage/blood :)
It’s a common sight that if someone says even have like a quarter of Jewish blood in them (regardless of father/mother side) - and if there are some devout Jewish person next to them
YOU ARE JEWISH
call will come out from that devout person. (While the ‘quater Jewish blood’ person doesn’t have any Jewish cultural or religious experience in their life.)
And will be followed by ‘Chosen ones are in crisis in times like this because of Holocaust, because of this inter-marriage and you must make Aliyah blah blah blah’
In my view.
It’s been a long, long, repeated disappointment - numerous educated and faithful? (supposedly) people I met - mentions what kind of lineage - blood connection they have - with famous people or old saints or powerful politicians or rich people or nobel prize winners.
It’s been really.
How weak our minds are.
Everytime I think about blood/lineage thing - I think about how weak - and unreliable, corruptible - human minds are.
:(
frightened replied to your post: Re: Anti-Semitism
please elaborate on this.
It’s like people are made to focus on, keep yanking about ball flying outside of the tennis court -
but not thinking about what kind of game is happening or not happening inside of the tennis court.
Funny. Inn’it.
People are only made to think what’s ‘Out’ - but never focusing on what’s really there within the relation.
Though, then the next subtle point is - Jewish people need to maintain their - identity legacy etc. Then do they need to keep themselves isolated, segregated etc - as a kind of survival strategy.
But then we never focus on this.
